AirTran Airways Reports Record February Traffic

AirTran Airways, today reported its revenue passenger miles (RPMs), available seat miles (ASMs) and passengers enplaned all represent records for the month of February.

AirTran Airways' traffic, measured by revenue passenger miles (RPMs), grew by 23.5 percent, to nearly 738 million RPMs, on an increase of 20.8 percent in capacity, based on available seat miles (ASMs). February's load factor reached 68.2 percent, compared to 66.7 percent in February 2004. The airline enplaned 1,071,502 passengers in the month of February, a 15.1 percent increase over February 2004, and a record for the month of February.

AirTran Airways, one of America's largest low-fare airlines with 6,000 friendly, professional Crew Members, operates over 500 daily flights to more than 40 destinations. The airline's hub is at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, where it is the second largest carrier.
