Travelers Prefer Beaches, But Not With Bosses or In-Laws

Findings from a recent American Airlines and Omni Hotels Summer Travel Trends Survey reveal that more than half -- 54 percent -- of respondents prefer a beach destination over the mountains (28 percent) or the wine country (19 percent). But apparently the company one keeps -- or chooses not to keep -- on vacation is just as important as selecting a destination. Not surprisingly, when those surveyed were asked with whom they'd least like to vacation, bosses topped the list at 42 percent, while 25 percent chose not to include their in-laws. Moreover, 14 percent said they prefer to travel alone -- without a spouse or significant other."We are also pleased to see that 63 percent of respondents named the Internet and online booking as one way that travel planning has been made easier," said Roger Frizzell, Vice President- Corporate Communications and Advertising for American Airlines.
