Handluggage only? Beware of Swiss!

Frequently I fly with Swiss within Europe and most of the time with handluggage only, because those trips are mostly short ones and because I travel with important documents most of the time.
So far I never had any problem with the friendly Swiss Airline. My handluggage has the right size as outlined by the airlines regulation. But Swiss since April 1st now is a "Proud Member of the Star Alliance" (merely a slave of Lufthansa) and when I checked in at Milan Malpensa I was met by a "let me weight your handluggage"...and... "you have 6 pound to much we have to check your luggage". My protest that it´s very important for me to have my documents with me and so on where ignored and there was no chance to convincee the lady.

We flew first to Zurich and in my head all the negative possibilities where turning around, what would happen if I arrive without those documents? without my laptop! Happyly enough, I could see my luggage passing by in Zurich....
I felt a little better but arriving Stockholm I was very nervouse again... my luggage of course was one of the last ones. All was fine tough, all the papers and my laptop where there and I felt good again.

A few days later flying home again, I specially weighted my handluggage before to stay under the maximum weight of 20lb. At Stockholm Airport, everything was okay I could take my handluggage as handluggage......But not so in Zurich.
I was informed that the flight is operated by a small Jumbolino (which is normal they mainly have Jumbolinos within Europe it´s their main fleet)and my luggage had to be checked. I was very upset, while she put the tag on my luggage and I should give it before entering the aircraft. A crew from Air Mauritius which also took the same flight had to leave their handluggage to be checked as well and many many other passengers...Their protest was friendly ignored. When traveling in the bus to the aircraft I took away the tag and took the luggage with me as and as well had no problem to put it in the overhead compartment. As the flight was half empty and all the bigger handluggages checked....There was plenty of space in the aircraft for all kind of handluggages...
Why does an intelligent airline such stupidities? With me, they have lost a client. I will never fly with Swiss anymore if I have to fly with handluggage only. With EasyJet and all the other Low Cost Carriers I never encountered such problems only with this now Lufthansa owned Swiss....
